She Makes War - Direction of Travel
CD orders come with a free bonus EP download, exclusive to Greedbag, featuring the tracks Long Cold Year, I Am and Slow Puncture.
Direction Of Travel on CD wrapped in a gorgeous 6-panel bundle of artwork (by Alex Bertram-Powell), portrait (by Dina Karklina) and travel photography (by She Makes War) PLUS an 8 page lyric booklet.
Direction of Travel is filled with She Makes War's own brand of inspirational gloom-pop, drawing on grunge and 90s alt-rock; heartfelt and bittersweet songs without so much as a grain of self-pity.

She Makes War is the prolific and hard working multi-instrumentalist Laura Kidd. Direction of Travel is her third studio album, following Disarm (2010) and Little Battles (2012). It was written and produced by Laura, mixed by Dan Austin (Doves, Pixies) and features guest appearances from Tanya Donelly (Belly) and Mark Chadwick (The Levellers).
In the past 18 months alone Laura has completed two tours in Germany, an acclaimed one-woman show at Edinburgh Fringe (“a charming hour of biographical storytelling and music…perfectly executed acoustic gems” - The List), support tours with Duke Special (UK) and The Levellers (UK & Europe), a 22 date UK headline tour, dates with tUnE-yArDs, Gruff Rhys, New Model Army and Pretty Vicious - as well as recording “Direction Of Travel” and the EP “Disarm:15”.
